DIFFERENTIAL LOCK

The differential is a mechanical key member for the distribution of the driving torque on the axles of a vehicle, and the entire kinematic chain is affected.

As discussed in a previous article, the differential turns the shaft longitudinal motion (conductor axis) in transverse motion axle shaft (driven axle) by sharing torque equally in regular driving conditions.

In case of cornering the number of revolutions of the two wheels may not be the same because the inside wheel will have a length of distance on the lower path to the outer wheel, consequently, the number of revolutions will be lower. Here intervenes the differential attributing to each axle of the adequate rotation speed as a function of the path to be traversed.

During fuoristradistici paths and in case of ground loss of grip on one of the wheels 2 the differential could prove to be a problem because it would provide traction to the raised wheel or subtracting it to the wheel slip in the socket on the ground. To avoid being a stationary vehicle, when crossing an obstacle or burdensome paths here we find solace in the differential lock. the differential lock excludes the distribution of torque between the two axle shafts, thus allowing the two wheels to have the same motor and the same number of rotations.

A differential lock, we propose a catalog is pneumatically operated, with manual entry via a convenient button that allows you to use it when the situation calls for avoiding premature wear of the wheels and the risk of a sudden the block graft in the normal road use. The kit includes lockable differential, air pipes, fixing material, relay and switch. The mounting is made easy because the block is applied on the original axles by replacing only the differential housing.
